Those new tabs you're seeing~!

Yeah so about those... After talking with a few of my friends, relatives, acquaintances you get the idea. They all agreed that it would be better if I covered more material, more often. Problem is games and tech aren't always readily available. Especially when the- game/tech I review has to be personally touched and played with by me. (Yes I'm cheating on all my games ;P). Jokes aside everyone felt that this blog would be that much better with more material. I thought to myself how do I increase the amount of content I can provide without diluting the meaning of the blog. Which is to give great gamer related reviews, news, etc...

Well what came to me was to broaden my horizons. Before you all start yelling at me I'm going to devote equal amounts of time to the new blog pages I'll be opening up, as much as the original DGI. What's going to change is the material. If you haven't already noticed the new tabs going up you're free to click on them now.

The blog will now include restaurant reviews. Yes that sounds blasphemous but hear me out. We gamers spend a lot of time well you know in front of a screen. We generally don't like to devote time to cooking, cleaning, much of anything else. It's a shame too because good food is really hard to pass up. So, with my experience in the kitchen and as a well rounded critic. I'm going to start including my own recipes and food reviews for the section: The Epicurian Gamer.

Following suit, my blog is now also going to become my part-time portfolio. I'm a writer deep down and I've had a passion for creative writing for a very long time; dating back to freshman year in high school. I stopped writing around the time I entered college since I had to devote myself to studies and well games. So that left very little free writing time. I've since graduated from Seton Hall University so I felt it would be a good step forward for both my career and me to pick up my creative pen again. Not that I haven't been showing you guys/gals tidbits here and there. The Writer's Corner will contain short stories, scripts, poems, anything creatively inclined that I happen to come up. It will be stored like an archive there. I also invite prospective employers looking for a creative writer to seek my samples there. (Note: most things posted in there will be of un-edited nature, meaning that any grammatical, spelling, or boorish mistakes that are made will probably be left alone.)

After I graduated I found myself wondering what to do with my life, to an extent I still kind of am. Tinkering with things here and there. But, always the one thing that has stayed consistent is my love of games. No matter how much I try, I can't bring myself to ever give them up. They've been a part of me forever. The Game of the Month tab will introduce a section where we'll be stacking up the Month's best games in a face off. The winner will be given my distinguished seal of approval as game of the month. The evaulating factors will of course be subjective, however the comparison criteria will stay objectively as Story, Graphics, Gameplay, and Sound.
